Dennis Saunders

With his unique CD entitled “Diamonds”, this Atlanta-based artist brings sounds of pure passion and emotion with his unique and spell bounding soulful style.

His ability to inject new life into familiar tunes, taking us back to times long forgotten, is a direct result of the impact that such artists as James Brown, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, Joe Tex, and even Sam and Dave, to name a few, has had on him as well as on today’s soulful (genre) array of music.

When the word “captivating” was defined, it may have been primarily for the sake of expressing the irresistible raw energy that this artist brings to the stage. His talent for writing makes him even more intriguing when he sings his ballads of love, life and happiness.

Like so many others, Dennis’ musical endeavors began in the Baptist church, singing solos with the children’s choir. By the ripe age of 14, he was performing in clubs and music halls in his hometown in Virginia.

"My proud parents, Norvell and Dorothy Mae Saunders, always encouraged me to believe in myself and to follow my dreams. So from Brooklyn, New York, to Lynchburg, Virginia, to Van Ives, California to Atlanta, GA, I, as an entertainer, realize that dream, giving you long lasting tunes that hopefully will never fade."

As you peruse this site, it is my sincere hope that you find as much pleasure in viewing it as I had in putting it together.

With gratitude Dennis Saunders The Diamond Man

JAMES LEGGET, Current Music Director for Dennis Saunders

Tantalizing and exciting are just two ways to describe this multi-talented individual. As a writer, producer, and mostly self-taught musician, James refined his talents by attending the Albany State College music program. There he served as percussion section leader for three consecutive years, and performed as first trumpet player in the concert bans. At this unique learning institution, James and colleagues formed The Fabulous Velvetones Band... and the world hadn't been the same since. As a Velvetone, James shared his God-given ability with renowned celebrities such as Isaac Hayes, William Bell, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, James Brown, Candy Staten, and a host of others.

In Atlanta, Mr. Leggett has worked with great groups such as: Atlanta's own "Most Wanted Band"; "Jamerica" a soul, rock and raggae machine and "Phazes of Tyme" a more conservative group.

But, now Atlanta is the focus of the new twist James has brought to this musical industrial giant by assisting the dynamic , soulful, the total package Mr. Dennis Sunders who is taking the city by storm!
